Everyday life transformed into a delightful comedy.
Névroses Banales, a new production by the Play Me A Dance company, led by choreographer Betty Mansion, explores with humour and sensitivity the little anxieties and obsessions that permeate our daily lives. Four friends find themselves in an undefined space-time, where wooden cubes, dance, song and clowning become the accomplices of their imagination.
A blend of zany musical comedy, absurd choreography and moments of vulnerability, the show questions our relationship with norms, aesthetic codes and self-acceptance. Here, ordinary neuroses are brought to light, embraced and shared as collective strengths.
At the crossroads of popular culture, clowning and contemporary dance, Névroses Banales celebrates the everyday by making it extraordinary. A ballet that is at once funny, touching and deeply human, inviting the audience to become both witnesses and partners in this exploration of our fragilities.
