Founded in 1999 by Pierre-Yves Maby, Émile Sabord has been supporting artists and performing arts companies for over twenty-five years in the development, promotion and dissemination of their artistic projects.

Over the years, the organisation has built its identity around unique approaches in the fields of clowning, contemporary circus and touring theatre. This loyalty to artists, projects and human relationships remains one of Émile Sabord’s hallmarks to this day. Émile Sabord supports artistic teams with strong and complementary artistic visions. Particular attention is paid to contemporary writing, big-top circus, creations in public spaces, and projects designed to reach out to audiences and communities, both in France and internationally.

More than just a booking agency, Émile Sabord champions a way of working based on closeness, listening and dialogue. We seek to provide support that is attentive to the human, technical and economic realities of the companies as much as to the artistic ambitions of the projects. We believe in works that are demanding yet accessible, capable of forging connections, shifting perspectives and bringing together diverse audiences.

We view distribution as a genuine hands-on endeavour, built in close collaboration with venues, festivals, local authorities and cultural partners. In a sector where collaboration is essential, Émile Sabord also works with a range of freelance collaborators, who are brought on board according to the projects and needs of the companies we support.
